In my professional career, I have always followed my passion. From working in the theater industry for nearly twenty years to now being a professional guide at the heart of what I’ve always done—is create. When I moved to New York City, I immediately knew this was where I wanted to live for the rest of my life. I may be biased, but it is the greatest city in the world. New York City is one of the most photographed, filmed, written about, and talked about places on earth.
After you have lived here for a while, you can spot a local or a visitor pretty easily. And the more I have lived in the city, I kept seeing the same thing happen when I noticed visitors over and over again. I kept seeing them get frustrated—not getting a full appreciation for where they were at that given time, not knowing how to get from point A to point B, and not getting the most out of their experience.
As I got older—and especially once friends, family, and visitors started asking me to “show them around”—I began to realize that my true #1 passion is New York City. What if I took all my creative talents and harnessed them into not just creating tours but creating an experience for visitors?
That realization is the reason I created Your NYC Experience.
When I began guiding professionally, I made an early decision: I wanted to focus on creating experiences for people. I wanted to get to know every client. I want to know what excites them about the city. Is this their first time visiting, or their tenth? What have they already seen or done? Are they more interested in history, food, culture, architecture, pop culture, or hidden corners? Do they want to pound the pavement or go at their own pace? Every tour is private. Every tour is custom. And every tour is shaped by the people taking it.
I don’t think of myself as someone who simply leads tours. I design experiences. That means building routes around your interests. Adjusting the day in real time if something catches your eye. Knowing when to tell a story—and when to step back and let the city speak. Creating space for discovery instead of rushing to the next stop. Even though I’m the one guiding, the company was intentionally named Your NYC Experience—not My NYC Experience—because the city doesn’t belong to me. It belongs to you while you’re here. My role is to act as a translator between the New York you’ve imagined and the New York that actually exists beneath the surface. Sometimes that means telling the history of what is around us. Sometimes it means introducing you to moments you didn’t know you were missing. And sometimes it means slowing things down so you can actually feel the city instead of racing through it.
Your NYC Experience offers private, one-on-one attention. Local knowledge without information overload. Flexibility instead of rigid schedules. A polished experience that makes you feel like you maximized every hour we are together. One of the reasons I love guiding in New York is because the city never stays still. Neighborhoods evolve. There is always something to learn, and new layers are constantly being added. That means no two tours are ever the same—even if they take place on the same streets. I’m always learning, noticing, and rediscovering the city alongside my guests. And that shared sense of discovery is one of the most rewarding parts of the job.
Your NYC Experience is for visitors who want more than surface-level sightseeing. They value story, context, and connection, and want to feel like they genuinely experienced their New York—not someone else’s itinerary. In New York City, there’s always another layer waiting to be uncovered.
Every time a guest says, “I never would have seen that on my own,” or “This finally makes sense,” I know I’m doing exactly what I set out to do. This isn’t about showing you everything. It’s about showing you the right things—for you.
And that’s why Your NYC Experience exists. Let’s create an experience together.
